The ABCs of Letter Writing / A= Address
And a book recommendation:
84, Charing Cross Road
It's the true-life correspondence between New York City writer Helene Hanff and Frank Doel of Marks & Co., Booksellers, London.
My copy is just under a hundred pages and it's a charming little book. It begins when Hanff writes to Marks & Co. looking for an out-of-print book. Their letters span 20 years (1949-1968).
Through their letters Hanff, (a brash, no-nonsense writer) and Doel, (the rather reserved book dealer), build a warm and touching friendship.
It's well worth the read.
