Welcome to Assembly of Grand Pursuits!
For as long as I can remember, I've enjoyed a couple of hobbies (gardening and snowshoeing), followed a few passions (calligraphy, baking, and letter writing), and experimented with new activities—some more successful than others.
At each turn I've met interesting people and learned something.
Seeing what others are doing can be inspiring, helpful, and sometimes critical in reaching new levels of understanding or technique. Whenever I have the chance to take a calligraphy or lettering workshop, it's interesting to see what sort of tools and materials others are using. What sort of paper do they like? Do they use the same nibs, pen holders, and inks that I do? How do they mix their paints?
These questions can only be answered by talking with and observing the people who are doing the work.
And that's what AGP is all about. I want to create a space where we can share ideas, inspiration, and a bit of how-to.
My goal is to light a spark to get you going, offer new perspectives on what you may already be doing, and inspire you to do more.
Whether we pursue hobbies, passions, or pastimes, be they long-lasting, short-lived, or complete failures, we are better informed, more confident, and happier for having tried.
With hobbies, passions, and pastimes—no matter what you choose—you get to do it in your own time, in your own way, for as long as you want.
And that . . . well, that's a grand pursuit!
Thanks for stopping by!
We believe that the best part of hobbies, passions, and pastimes is that you are free to map your own journey, customize, revise, and innovate at will. And that can be very rewarding.
We want to encourage you to follow what interests you and help you discover new pursuits. At Assembly of Grand Pursuits our goal is to ask a few questions, get a few answers.
We're looking for people with hobbies, passions, and pastimes who are interested in SHARING their story.
If you or someone you know might be a good fit for our profiles, let us know.
